In France his name is Pere Noel. This gift giver delivers presents to good children on December 6th, Saint Nicholas Eve.
Shown here delivering flowers for the Sapin de Noel, Nick loves to help with this tradition that was started in the Alsace region of France in the 14th century. Apples, flowers and ribbon are used to decorate greens, or trees that are displayed everywhere in the village shops and in the homes.
Another great French holiday tradition—the buche de Noel. But that is another story...and this one has less calories!
